Cubitt Stanley George Armes of Martham

Cubitt is listed on the War Memorial as one of those who gave his life during the Second World War.

Cubitt was born on 3rd November 1912 to Stanley Armes & Ruth Elizabeth, nee Loads. He married Stella May Brunson in 1938 in Great Yarmouth and they had a daughter called Pauline who was born in 1940.

Cubitt was employed as a motor driver, grocers & drapers assistant and policeman in September 1939 when they lived at 3 Bell Yard, White Street.

He served in the military in 1940 as a driver with Royal Army Service Corp. His military serial number was T/212014. He was wounded in action and repatriated but died on 17th November 1940 in Luton, Bedfordshire when he was 28. He was buried in St Mary’s graveyard at section H, plot H38.
