Henry Laxon (1822-1859) of Martham
Henry is buried at plot 7 of the Baptist graveyard at Oak Tree Close. He had almost no association with Martham and yet was buried here probably as a result of his Baptist beliefs and the only local availability of a Baptist graveyard. Henry was born on 22nd October 1822 at Bungay, Suffolk to Henry Laxon & Ann, nee Gurney. He married Charlotte Skoyles in Great Yarmouth in 1845 and by 1851 he had become the schoolmaster at Filby. He died on 8th January 1859 whilst still only 36 years old.
