Henry Laxon (1822-1859) of Martham<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Henry is buried at plot 7 of the Baptist graveyard at Oak Tree Close. He had almost no association with Martham and yet was buried here probably as a result of his Baptist beliefs and the only local availability of a Baptist graveyard. Henry was born on 22nd<\/sup> October 1822 at Bungay, Suffolk to Henry Laxon & Ann, nee Gurney. He married Charlotte Skoyles in Great Yarmouth in 1845 and by 1851 he had become the schoolmaster at Filby. He died on 8th<\/sup> January 1859 whilst still only 36 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n
