George Sales<\/strong> (1899-1919) of Martham<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

George is listed on the War Memorial<\/a><\/em> as one of those who gave his life during the First World War.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

George was born on 6th<\/sup> November 1899 in Martham as the first child of Henry Sales and Ann(e), nee Brown. He was baptized on 4th<\/sup> February 1900 at St Mary’s.<\/a><\/em> As a baby he was listed with his family in 1901 as living with his parents at Somerton Road, <\/a><\/em>Martham.  He was also with them in 1911 when they all lived at Goose’s Cottages, Cess; he was 11 and at school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He served in the military in 1919 as Private 14857 with the 10th Royal East Kent & West Kent Yeomanry Battalion, The Buffs East Kent Regiment.<\/p>\n\n\n

He died from injuries on 8th<\/sup> April 1919 in Norwich Hospital when he was 18 and was buried at St Mary the Virgin graveyard <\/a><\/em>section H, plot E13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
