Robert is listed on the War Memorial<\/a><\/em> as one of those who gave his life during the First World War.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert was born in 1877 in Coltishall, Norfolk. His mother was Emma Rivett and he had a sister called Eliza Catherine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was listed in the census in 1881 living with his mother at Hautbois, Norfolk and also in the 1891 census when he was at Frettenham Road, Horstead and was 13. By the time of the 1911 census he lived at Mill Cottage, South Walsham and was a farm labourer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He served in the military in 1916 as Lance Corporal 3\/7837 with the 1st Battalion Norfolk Regiment. He was badly injured and repatriated in 1915 to The Royal Victoria Hospital which was a large military hospital at Netley, near Southampton. He did not recover and died on 4th January 1916, aged 39. He was buried on 9th January 1916 at St Mary’s graveyard<\/a><\/em> at section H, plot D19.<\/p>\n\n\n
