He had almost no association with Martham and yet was buried here probably as a result of his Baptist beliefs and the only local availability of a Baptist graveyard. Henry was born on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> October 1822 at Bungay, Suffolk to Henry Laxon &amp; Ann, nee Gurney. He married Charlotte Skoyles in Great Yarmouth in 1845 and by 1851 he had become the schoolmaster at Filby.
