His history illustrates just how delicately the balance of life was in the mid-19<sup>th<\/sup> century. He died on 6<sup>th<\/sup> September 1860 when he was only 30. By then however his family life had already seen many ups and downs. He was a tailor and married Eliza Jeary at <em><a href=\"http:\/\/marthamnorfolk.co.uk\/?page_id=1204\">St Mary\u2019s<\/a><\/em> on 15<sup>th<\/sup> October 1854 and they quickly had four children but tragically three died within months of being born. They were Frederick in the summer of 1855; Catherine in the spring of 1858 and Alfred who was in born late in 1859 and died in early 1860. In between them was another son they also called Frederick who was born in 1856 and survived into adulthood.
